Packing for a golf trip abroad can be stressful and potentially leave you feeling somewhat bereft after you realise you need several bags and several daily outfits (on the plus at least you can enjoy several beers).
So how do we ensure we don’t encounter extra costs on a golf holiday when we get to l’aeroport? And also make sure we have packed everything with complete ease. Of course, we read ONPAR’s checklist of golf trip forget me nots and there will be no missed opportunity on and off the course.
First and foremost, check the weather. You might be heading to La Cala Resort, but Mijas still has its greens naturally watered by many rainy days. You may feel drawn to packing your shorts, but waterproof’s or long trousers may be more suitable for the time of year. Be sure to always check the course dress code before presuming you can turn up in typically British-in-the-sun gear.
Whilst packing for a golf holiday, remember you also have a huge golf bag to carry as well as your case. Of course, it sounds much easier to rent equipment from your designated holiday golf club, but golf doesn’t feel like golf without your own trusty set, am I right?
If you’re feeling the pressure of fitting in your thousand outfits (Don’t forget, you need a fresh set of golf clothing per day or per round, as well as night time attire, and even work out attire if you’re feeling extra adventurous), really start to utilize the extra space you have in your golf bag.
Golf bags are amazing for rolling up t-shirts and polo shirt’s but are also a great place to store socks, underwear or toiletries should you be strapped for space in your main luggage or hold bag. Not only will this save you space, it will also save you money. Airlines will already be charging you extra for your golf equipment, so the last thing you need is paying for an extra bag!
Think about your choices wisely. Pack light but stay stylish- You never know when 18 holes turns into a dinner, and most 5-star resorts may require more formal attire.
Collared shirts, long trousers and soft spikes are always a good place to start. You can bet your bottom dollar this is what you’ll be living in for the majority of your trip.
