First and foremost, before we go into why- ABSOLUTELY. Golf lessons can provide tips, strategies, and better form, no matter what level of golfer you are. Even an intermediate golfer could do with re-posturing.
Golf Lessons; A few tips here and there could make a huge difference to your swing and your game. There is always room for improvement and sometimes even being shown a better grip could take your handicap down to single figures in just a few months.
Golf lessons are completely worth the money if you are new to golf. We’ve all tried crazy golf and almost always think we can transfer these skills over to the course, but oh how wrong we are.
Before attempting a 9 or 18 hole course, you need to ensure you know exactly how to grip the clubs (this makes a huge difference in your swing), you also need to perfect your posture, or that ball you’re about to hit isn’t going anywhere near the targeted area.
Lessons help with consistency and efficiency. Don’t forget, each PGA teaching professional will each have different tips and past experiences, so each experience will benefit your game in some way, shape or form.
If you feel like you are experiencing a bad game more often than not, golf lessons will help you fall back in love with the game.
Golf is a really easy game to quit if you’re having a couple of bad weeks. Ideas from teaching professionals can help you be more productive when you’re practicing. A lot of the time we tend to head to the range without a real plan, but with a set plan in mind we start to manage our practice time differently. Best way to get a plan? A lesson.
There is no quick fix when it comes to perfecting a certain aspect of your game. Let’s take your swing for example. One 40-minute lesson isn’t going to turn you from Happy Gilmore to Dustin Johnson, it takes time, effort, patience and the realisation that the effort you put in will be reciprocated back if you have the right attitude.
At ONPAR, we highly recommend golf lessons for any level of golfer, and believe they are worth their weight in gold!
A PGA professional at your chosen club can show you the ropes. Not only are they incredibly talented and Uber friendly, the PGA Pro’s live and breathe golf, so they are more than happy to teach beginners the right set up. Never be embarrassed to ask for lessons or a little help here and there. If you search the ONPAR golf directory for clubs in your area, you will find the residing pro at your chosen club with their contact details and lesson pricing.
We understand that sometimes golf lessons aren’t attainable due to time or finances. If neither of these are on your side, logging into YouTube and watching video’s may be your saving grace. Many of our featured pros have YouTube channels where they film “how to” videos, equipment reviews and much more. Group lessons are also a great way to cut down the cost of lessons. They are also an amazing way to meet new people and have fun whilst learning. You may not get the direct 1-1 experience, but you will still pick up some golf tips on a regular basis, working out around £5-£10 a session.
