Sutton Bridge Golf Club is a fine nine hole members’ club, established in 1914, and located in and around an abandoned late 19th century dock basin adjacent to the River Nene in South Lincolnshire. The original concrete walls of the dock, some 15 feet high, form an integral part of the course, with poplars and willows providing definition to all nine holes. The greens are rated among the best in the county, and are good all the year round. The land is well-drained (part of the reason for the earlier engineering disasters) thus enabling the course to remain open when others are closed. The club is keen to attract more visitors and members. We believe that a nine hole course is ideally suited to ‘busy people’ providing as it does the opportunity to ‘play the game in half the time!’ There is no other golf course like Sutton Bridge anywhere in the country, and one which is a joy to play.
Once described as `the best kept golfing secret in Lincolnshire’, Sutton Bridge is aiming to throw off this particular reputation by encouraging more people to come to the club and enjoy what it has to offer.
Established in and around an abandoned Victorian dock, the 15 foot high falls come into play on seven of the nine holes including the par-four 7th where one wall crosses the fairway at right angles to provide a stiff test from the tee. For more information go to ‘History’.
The club offers a wide range of membership options including age-related discounts; first year membership discounts; trial memberships as well as the opportunities for beginners ‘to get into golf’. The club is keen to encourage ‘family membership’ in the coming months with ‘open days’ to interest all ages. See ‘Membership’ for more.
Visiting golfers are especially welcome at Sutton Bridge, and for a relatively small fee are able to play a memorable golf course. Golfing packages are available for visiting groups, and similar arrangements can be made for the basic four-ball. We cater for 2for1s; county cards; S.Lincs. League cards, and our members are encouraged to invite friends at a discount. go to ‘Green Fees’.
An active Social Committee is putting together an interesting Events Programme which it is hoped will encourage members, friends and people in the local community to use the clubhouse more. Social Members pay £30.00 a year membership fee, and are free to use the facilities of the clubhouse at all times.

Carlsberg Tetley are main suppliers of beers backed up with good Guinness, Lagers etc, plus modern bottled drinks and good wines. The clubhouse was built in 1996 funded solely from the membership. It is a modern style with an open plan lounge restaurant and bar but the timber and brickwork some how manages to give a traditional feel. What better way to while away the day than by sitting with a pot of tea or something stronger watching friends negotiate the final hole at this great club. The club is available for private functions to members and guests. Details are available from the secretary.
