Originally located in Penn, in 1908 the Club moved to its current home in Tettenhall where Harry Vardon – six time winner of The Open Championship – designed the original layout. Though, in subsequent years, the course has been updated by such luminaries as Harry Colt, James Braid and more recently Donald Steele, Vardon’s original design remains. Recognised as a challenge requiring both skill and imagination, over the last one hundred years the golf course has witnessed the play of many top professionals including, in the early days Harry Vardon and George Duncan,Ted Ray and Sandy Herd.
Facilities include lounge bar, spike bar and terrace, television lounge and a spacious restaurant all of which enjoy the splendid view over the 1st and 18th holes and the countryside beyond. Light snacks are provided throughout the day but for something special sample the delights of fine dining in the restaurant.
